Hello,

i have following Problems with our SymbolServer.
We wanted to use 1 symbolserver for the company, so i setup a w2k8 64 bit
server and installed symproxy in that way what symhttp told me.

i can now access to my symbol server but following problem is disturbing me..
if the symbol file is not on the server it doesnt download it from
msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

i want that the server downloads the symbol not the client.. is that
possible? ( i would say yes? :D )

thats how it goes (EventLog):

Default root has no SymbolPath defined.
SymbolPath for root "symbols":

Hello.

You cannot access msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols with a web browser.
This is by-design.

Hello.

There is probably something wrong with your configuration. That would
account for the assertion error. Could you give me the exact version number
of symsrv.dll?

The rest of the spew looks like what I would normally expect to see if the
particular symbol file was not available on our website. But it could also
be cause by a poorly configured or specified proxy.

My suggestion is to install a debugger on the machine that you are running
the symproxy on and try to directly debug with the same symbol path and see
what the spew looks like there. If you send the info back to the newsgroup,
please include the exact symbol paths used by the symproxy and the debugger
you setup for testing. Also include the spew from the debugger.

thanks,

After i use another dump file with my symbolserver path it doesnt work .
